The biggest standing ovation, however, went to Lopez, who performed a tribute to Selena, backed by the band of the young Mexican singer who was killed in 1995.

‘Avengers’ Sequel Huge at Box Office, May Break Original’s Record

‘Avengers’ Sequel Huge at Box Office, May Break Original’s Record

Disney and Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is heading for box office history with early Friday estimates showing it running slightly ahead of the $207.4 million opening weekend record for 2012’s “The Avengers.”
The first-day numbers for “Age of Ultron” look to come in between $89 million and $98 million — which could break the $91 million opening-day record set in July 2011 by Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.”
“Ultron” launched with a stunning $27.6 million in Thursday-night previews starting at 7 p.m. in North America — far above the $18.7 million grossed in midnight showings by “The Avengers” on its first Thursday night in May 2012. “The Avengers” posted the second-highest opening day of all-time with $80.8 million on Friday.
Box office trackers have been asserting in recent days that “Avengers: Age of Ultron” can break that mark this weekend with openings at 4,276 locations. The most robust early estimates on Friday indicated that the final number would come in between $210 million and $222 million.
The Thursday-night North American launch for “Ultron” brought the worldwide total to $314.9 million since the sequel opened on April 22, led by South Korea with $37.2 million, the U.K. with $35.9 million, Russia with $20.9 million and Brazil with $19.7 million. Mexico saw a new opening-day record of $6.8 million on Thursday.
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” grossed $201 million internationally last weekend from 55% of the overseas markets — 44% ahead of the first film.

Britney Spears Shows Off Her New Bootie After Concert Injury—See the Pic

Britney Spears, Instagram

Introducing, Brit Brit's bootie!
After slipping on stage and twisting her ankle during her Las Vegas concert earlier this week, Britney Spears is taking a few days off to get some well-deserved R&R.
The singer showed off her ankle brace in her latest Instagram and wrote, "This boot was made for walkin'."
In the cute snapshot, she's seen posing in her pajamas while making a peace sign for the camera. We're glad to see she's in good spirits despite the injury!
Just yesterday, it was announced that her two of her upcoming shows were going to be rescheduled so that Spears could recover from the tumble.
"Breaks my heart to share news. After hurting my ankle last night my doctor has advised me not to perform this weekend," she told her fans in a later Instagram post.
"Your kind words mean everything to me! I'm rescheduling this weekend's shows and will let y'all know when we have the new dates. Xoxo."
Spears was in the middle of her Piece of Me concert in Sin City at the AXIS auditorium when she slipped while performing her hit "(You Drive Me) Crazy."
Rest up and get better, Brit!

Game of Thrones: How the Khaleesi Has Fallen! Where Daenerys Went Wrong This Year

Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones | Photo Credits: HBO.

Game of Thrones' badass queen has turned out to be a disappointment.
Coming into the HBO series' fifth season, this was supposed to be the year of the Khaleesi since Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) stopped her march across the giant continent of Essos to put down roots in Meereen, the latest city where she abolished slavery. The intent was to practice how to be a ruler and better prepare herself for eventually taking her rightful place on the Iron Throne in Westeros. Unfortunately, all of her strength and potential seem to have crumbled, leaving her supporters to wonder: What happened to Daenerys? TVGuide.com breaks down the Mother of Dragons' rise and fall with a little help from her friends.

A promising start
Despite being sold into marriage to the Dothraki by her own brother, Daenerys rallied and not only outlived her brother and husband, but became the first female leader of a Dothraki horde, aka khalasar. Simultaneously, she was also "reborn" as the Mother of Dragons when she survived a funeral pyre that also hatched three dragon eggs. The platinum hair and ability to handle the legendary creatures marked her as a true Targaryen, whose birthright was ruling Westeros.

(Via)
Her resilience, courage and bloodline all made her a leading candidate for the Iron Throne, and gave former Kingsguard knight Ser Barristan Selmy (Ian McElhinney) a purpose. "He spent his life serving bad kings," McElhinney tells TVGuide.com. "First of all, there was [Aerys] who was mad, and then there was Robert, who was a man he obviously liked and a soldier he admired, but unfortunately not a good king. [After being dismissed by Joffrey], he's come all this way to find Daenerys because he wanted to serve somebody he thought he could believe in."
From survivor to savior
Daenerys' might could not be denied, and by simply uttering "dracarys," she had her dragons render her foes into sizzling bits of human barbecue. Despite this advantage, however, Dany didn't use her power for mere conquest but to also free countless slaves, among them Astapor's Unsullied -- eunuchs who've been trained since childhood to be soldiers unmatched in skill and obedience. Jacob Anderson, who plays an Unsullied named Grey Worm who has become the leader of her armed forces, understands Daenerys' anti-slavery stance. "She's had a taste of slavery in a smaller way than the Unsullied," he explains. "She was passed around and she was basically her brother's slave for a really long time and completely beholden to men. She was owned. So I think she can identify with [the slaves]."

(Via)
Despite having his freedom, Grey Worm has reason to stick by Daenerys' side. "She introduced him to the idea of being a human being," Anderson says. "She's almost like some sort of angel that has come in and given all of these traumatized young men their their lives back. He's trying to work out how to be a human being, which is again such a weird, incomprehensible thing, that this is somebody who has never thought of themselves as an individual, or thought about their needs or their desires or who they are."

Jennifer Lawrence Rocks Sexy See-Through Top at LAX: Is She Teasing Her Met Gala Look?!

Jennifer Lawrence

looks like someone's street style is seriously on point...
Jennifer Lawrence was spotted on Friday at LAX, where the 24-year-old Oscar Winner looked effortlessly cool and casual as she arrived at the airport. The American Hustle star was believed to be catching a flight to NYC in anticipation of her gig as co-host of the 2015 Met Gala.
Wearing her hair tied back in a loose ponytail and a cool pair of aviator shades, theSilver Linings star rocked low-slung cropped back plants and a crochet see-through top which she teamed with studded loafer flats.
The actress appeared to arrive at the airport solo, keeping her head tilted down as she strolled past the parade of prying paps while wearing minimal makeup and flaunting her toned tummy thanks to her super-lowrise pants.

Meanwhile, the Hunger Games star, who has been incredibly focused on work as of late, was most recently spotted reuniting with Chris Martin, whom she has been seeing off and on since August 2014.
The two enjoyed a date at famed NYC eatery Tavern on the Green, where the couple didn't hide from fans, even requesting a center table so Lawrence "could see the park."
"They talked quietly and seemed very happy," a source told E! News of the duo.
Lawrence is currently filming X-Men: Apocalypse and she recently confirmed to MTV News that the film will mark the last time she plays Mystique in the famous superhero franchise. She also recently completed filming Joy, which is directed byDavid O. Russell and will reteam Lawrence and Bradley Cooper for the fourth time.

Kendall Jenner’s Calvin Klein Billboard Vandalized by a Drone

For months now, as I walk to and from the subway on my commute I’ve been forced to face Justin Bieber’s tatted-up biceps on a billboard (which, wasn’t too bad, because even though I’m ashamed to admit this, I’m a total Belieber). But a few weeks ago, the singer’s controversial ad came down in Soho and his model friend (maybe more than that?) Kendall Jenner was erected in his place. An oversized image of the 19-year-old instead assaulted my eyes before they had even fully open in the morning—her impossibly thin body (and just the fact that she’s a Kardashian by association) is enough to put anyone in a bad mood no matter if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed or not.
But overnight, the original pouty face campaign shot was replaced with a less in your face “check out how skinny I am” image. Just assuming it was time for a switch, I didn’t expect to discover that, like me, someone else had dreams of destroying the poster—only this person actually followed through.
Kendall Jenner’s Calvin Klein Billboard Vandalized by a Drone
In the early hours on Wednesday, street artist Katsu used a drone to spray paint the Calvin Klein Jeans for Opening Ceremony sign. The first wrecking of its kind, it wasn’t novel or playful (a mustache would’ve been funny, right?) it was introductory, just a bunch of red lines defacing her pretty face, yet innovative in its use of technology. But as Katsu explained to Wired, even just getting those marks up there was difficult. “Seventy per cent of the concentration is in maintaining this equilibrium with the two dimensional surface while you are painting,” he explained of the process. “It turned out surprisingly well,” he said. “It’s exciting to see its first potential use as a device for vandalism.”
The illegal act took less than a minute to complete and a similarly short amount of time for Calvin Klein to print out another massive image of Jenner to plaster up on the corner of Houston and Lafayette in downtown Manhattan. Less than 24 hours later, Katsu’s drone work was gone and replaced with a clean but different version of Jenner.
There’s also a stunning Kate Moss placard across the street that makes me feel bad about myself. Katsu, any interest in helping a girl out?

What You Didn't See During Dancing With the Stars' 10th Anniversary Special (Hey, Maks & Meryl!)

ot the chills watching the Dancing With the Stars 10th Anniversary Special in the ballroom last week. Maybe I've inhaled too much Disney pixie dust over the season, but there was truly something magical being in that room with so many DWTS alum and fan favorites (ahem, Maks and Meryl). And that's why I want to share what you didn't see on tonight's special. Enjoy, and happy anniversary, Dancing With the Stars!

Tuesday, April 21
6:15 P.M. I arrive backstage to the hustle and bustle of what feels like a finale show but without the stress of a competition. I spot Meryl Davis and Candace Cameron Bure by craft services but decide to wait to say my hellos until we all get into the ballroom.
6:25 P.M. Inside the ballroom, 90 percent of the seats have the names of former and current DWTS celebs on them, as well as a few reserved for members of longtime press covering the show and ABC notables. Mysteriously listed on a couple chairs are the names Kelly Kapowski, Richard Belding, and Jesse Spano. For the record, I never spot them.
6:27 P.M. Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec walks right by me until he does a double take and says, "Whoa, I didn't recognize you!" It's not like I dress casual every Monday night, but this evening I'm on camera for our video coverage, so there's an extra layer of sparkles and fake eyelashes happening. Meanwhile, Robert tells me he's excited he can finally relax in the ballroom tonight because he doesn't have to dance.
6:29 P.M. I spot Candace Cameron Bure in her seat applying lipstick and run up to give her a hug. The night before, John Stamos went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to confirm that Full House is returning to Netflix. Candace tells me that it's been in the works for a long time now, so it's a relief to finally be able to talk about it. We also joke about how unglamorous our jobs really are (I had been up for 28 hours the day before with our ACM coverage in Dallas, where I caught up with former DWTS winner Kellie Pickler).

6:35 P.M. As I head to my seat, Janel Parrish spots me and runs over for a hug. She's wearing a very low-cut dress, and I joke that I hope she's wearing enough double-sided tape for the evening! She assures me she is.
6:40 P.M. While we wait for the live-to-tape show to begin, Jacoby Jones' mom blows her son a kiss, and he throws one right back.

6:55 P.M. Maks and Meryl wait patiently for the opening number to star, whispering in each other's ears while swaying back and forth. It's just like old times.
dwts-10-maks-meryl

7:10 P.M. The show has started, and Tom Bergeron is introducing the champions' package. While this is going on, Danica McKellar and Corbin Bleu run over to judge Bruno Tonioli to give him a hug.
7:13 P.M. Chris Soules is sitting across the way from me and staying caffeinated with soda first, then switches to coffee. Gotta keep these guys hydrated! (Later, he dons a mullet for the Billy Ray Cyrus performance).

7:20 P.M. Before Maks and Meryl and Witney and Alfonso are introduced, Maks and Alfonso start performing moves to "The Carlton," while Meryl and Witney playfully bump butts.

7:30 P.M. During a commercial break, Lea Thompson greets Rumer Willis with a warm embrace.
7:40 P.M. Right before Val and Kelly Monaco perform their water-based flamenco, Val is on the ballroom floor doing push-ups.
7:46 P.M. As soon as Kelly and Val are finished with their dance, Len Goodman is on his feet applauding with a smile plastered across his face. I guess we won't hear a "save it for the bedroom" speech here, will we, Len?
kelly-monaco-val-chmerkovskiy-dwts-10-anniversary

7:46 P.M. While Len is looking like a proud parent, Jonathan Bennett's eyes are bugging out, either shocked at what he just saw or deathly afraid of a moment he won't soon forget. Julianne Hough notices his paralyzed reaction and immediately alerts Bruno, who starts cracking up. Jonathan never notices their reactions.
7:50 P.M. Before Mark Ballas and Sasha Farber dance to "Uptown Funk," Mark stops the song twice because the volume isn't loud enough. The third time's a charm, and the dance gets under way. As great as it is, it's bittersweet that Derek isn't able to perform it with Mark. Speaking of Derek, he's nowhere to be seen, which is a surprise given it is the 10th Anniversary Special (yes, I know he's injured).
7:55 P.M. Maks and Val share a brotherly embrace by the stairs until they spot me and stop hugging and start waving. Sorry, boys!
7:58 P.M. Maks and Len ride a bicycle out on the ballroom floor, which elicits tons of laughter from the audience. They then have to back up the bicycle to their starting point, which is even funnier.
8:00 P.M. Daniel Day Kim (Hawaii Five-O) is in the audience and shakes hands with Tommy Chong. No one can quite figure out why Kim is there, but everyone is happy about it.
8:02 P.M. Dorothy Hamill is seated next to Danica McKellar, and the two practice a hand routine from their seats.
dwts-10-anniversary-special-1

8:03 P.M. Meanwhile, Mark Ballas is deep in conversation with Chris Soules, explaining to him what looks like a detailed play-by-play of how Derek got injured.
8:06 P.M. Maks' audition tape is shown, and Meryl can't believe what she's seeing. By the way, the shirt and beanie that Tony Dovolani wore in the celebriquarium? Tony told me that was the actual shirt and beanie from Maks' closet! He went in and stole it purposely for that moment. It's payback because earlier in the day, "Maks was making fun of my face on the poster of winners," says Tony.
dwts-10-anniversary-tom-meryl-maks

8:08 P.M. When Tom Bergeron throws to commercial, Maks and Meryl head over to the judges' table to give them hugs and kisses. As far as I remember, they were the only couple to do that. They then hold hands as they run off backstage.
maks-meryl-dwts-10

8:14 P.M. Amber Riley's mom is sitting behind me, cheering loudly as her daughter makes her debut alongsidePatti LaBelle and Lil' Kim.

8:16 P.M. Looking to make my getaway to head to the DWTS after-party, I spot Maks and Peta being playful with each other backstage before they come back out on the dance floor.
Other tidbits: At the after party I ask Meryl what was her most awkward moment on the dance floor or in rehearsal and she recounts the moment that Maks got frustrated and threw his audio pack off. Still, "we really clicked during our season. He's genuinely an incredible person, and the passion makes him who he is. So sometimes if there's a little bit too much or if it comes off the wrong way, it's just part of the package," Meryl tells me. She also tells me that she had the best time dancing with Maks again on the DWTS dance floor and wants to do it again. Until that happens, she'll be performing with Maks in SWAY this summer.
dwts-10-meryl-maks-dance

Val wasn't able to be at the party since he hopped on a flight to New York immediately after the show, but when I caught up with him back in L.A., I couldn't not ask him about his sexy routine with Kelly Monaco. "Listen, I owe a lot to the show and that was my way of saying thank you to 10 years of changing the lives of a lot of dancers. I am not dancing in a Speedo ever again! Thank you so much to Dancing With the Stars. They owe me two [Mirrorballs] for that!"

FKA twigs Poses Wearing Engagement Ring (and Nothing Else)

FKA Twigs (Instagram)

Robert Pattinson is one lucky lad!
FKA twigs attended the Swarovski Crystal World reopening evening gala in Wattens, Austria, on Tuesday night and the singer decided to unwind after the soiree with a nice bubble bath. How do we know this? Her stylist Karen Clarkson posted a photo of it.
"Always have a bath before bed," Clarkson captioned the sultry shot above. While twigs, real name Tahliah Barnett, kept everything covered up she did show off one important item… her engagement ring.
News broke earlier this month that the Twilight actor, 28, and FKA twigs, 27, were set to tie the knot although they have stayed mum on the reports. However, we just got a glimpse of the diamond serpentine-like piece of jewelry over the weekend. She wore a ring on that finger during an outing in Venice, California, and again on the red carpet last night.
Clearly, she doesn’t have plans to take it off anytime soon.

Katy Perry’s Latest Outfit Is Causing Controversy Overseas

Katy Perry’s Latest Outfit Is Causing Controversy Overseas
Katy Perry’s no stranger to causing controversy with her clothes—or lack thereof—but this time, it’s not just her attire but what she wore on top that’s creating a commotion.
While performing in the Taiwanese capital of Taipei on Tuesday, the pastel-tressed Perry briefly wore the national flag of the Republic of China—Taiwan’s flag—around her neck like a cape. She also had on a gown decorated with sunflowers.
It might seem like nothing new for Perry, but the issues stem from the fact that, in Taiwan, both of those images are generally considered to be in support, politically, of the island state’s independence from China. As per Quartz, sunflowers were the symbol of anti-China protests in Taiwan in 2014, and in 2012, the Republic of China flag was removed from the Olympic games. By donning these symbols, Perry was potentially supporting Taiwan’s right to independence. So, whether it was intentional or not, the pop star put out a pretty loaded statement.
Still, considering that sunflowers have been a recurring motif in her concerts for quite a while, it seems unlikely that a political message was what Perry was going for. She’s also never been one to shy way from wearing a flag and has even sported a million incarnations of the American flag, and at least one Brazilian flag muumuu.
But that didn’t stop Perry’s overseas fans (many of whom call her the incredible nickname “Fruit Sister,” after her affinity for wearing food-themed costumes) from freaking out a little online about the debacle. “Singing with a national flag of the Republic of China. So moving,” wrote one. Others were not as thrilled. Said another, “I’m speechless over Fruit Sister. I suppose she has no chance to come to the mainland anymore, though she might not care. These performers who intervene in other countries’ politics are the most annoying.”
As Quartz notes, Perry upsetting mainland China could not only impact her massive fan base there, but her sales, as well. The photos of Fruit Sister wearing her controversial flag cape have, reportedly, already vanished entirely from Chinese social media.

Honest Company Founder Jessica Alba Has 'Made People Cry'

Jessica Alba (David Slijper/More magazine)

Don't be fooled by Jessica Alba's kind smile and her down-to-earth demeanor on the red carpet. She can be a scary boss.
In a new interview with More magazine, Alba reveals that she's not always easy to please at the Honest Company. The eco-friendly brand of home and baby products that she founded in 2012 is now valued at nearly $1 billion.
"Sometimes I'm a little more iron fist than velvet glove," Alba confesses. "I'm straight to the point. I've made people cry. I have to say, 'This isn't personal. This is what needs to get done, and it's just as simple as that. And... we're not crying anymore.' I'm learning to tone myself down."
In fact, Alba's mom, Cathy, has called her 33-year-old daughter "a workaholic control freak" when it comes to her company, which is based in Santa Monica, California.
"Being an actress is like a vacation; business is relentless," Alba explains. "People work hard here. It's nice to be around people who are so committed."

The Sin City star appears in five movies this year, but the Honest Company is not just a side hustle. She has serious goals for the e-commerce site, which already offers diapers, soaps, and many more products — some even at grocery stores. In the future, Alba says customers can buy even more honestly, including tampons with a plant-based applicator, hair care, mattresses, and paint. Thinking small is just not how she rolls.
"You're not really going to make a big difference in the world if you're playing in a niche marketplace," she tells the magazine.
Not that it's going to be easy. Alba admits that, as a woman working primarily with men, she faces challenges.
"My [business] partners are men," Alba notes. "Whenever I say something that's kind of against their intuition, they go back and talk to their wives. And then their wives usually agree with me. So that's how we get stuff done over here."

Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, must get stuff done at home, too. They share two daughters, 6-year-old Honor and Haven, 3, when she's not, you know, making people cry. And, of course, as working moms always are, Alba's asked about how she balances her time at work and with her family.
"You don't really know how [your career] is affecting [your kids] until they're adults and they say, 'You ruined my life, Mom!'" she says. "Maybe they want me to be a stay-at-home mother who bakes chocolate-chip muffins all day. Nah. I'd probably want to start a chocolate-chip-muffin company. Ya know?"

Sounds like someone is a fan of Hillary Clinton.
