Jack Sparrow might not be walking the plank, but it looks like Johnny Depp could be walking down the aisle sometime soon.
After days of speculation, Yahoo has learned that Depp, 50, is engaged to girlfriend Amber Heard, 27. The two made their public debut as a couple on Golden Globes eve last Saturday at the Art of Elysium gala. Then on Monday, paparazzi caught the actress leaving a restaurant sporting a ginormous piece of bling on her left ring finger. Though both Depp and Heard have remained mum on the subject, a source close to couple has confirmed that they are indeed betrothed.

No word on when Depp proposed, but the stunning couple started dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of "The Rum Diaries." They went public in June of that year after Depp announced his separation from longtime love Vanessa Paradis. Depp and Paradis have two kids together, Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 11, although they never married.
The lovers and co-workers are set to reunite on the big screen together later this year in "London Fields," which also co-stars Theo James, Billy Bob Thornton, Jaimie Alexander, and Jim Sturgess.
If Depp and Heard actually do end up tying the knot, it'll be the second marriage for the "Lone Ranger" star. He was previously wed to Lori Anne Allison from 1983-85. But he is not big when it comes to commitment. Aside from his reluctance to seal the deal with Paradis, he has broken off previous engagements to Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn, and Winona Ryder.

As for Heard, she has never married before but has openly discussed her bisexuality. In an August 2013 feature in Elle, she talked about having had past romantic relationships with both men and women, including being in a relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree from 2008 to 2012.

"I didn't want to look like I was hiding anything," she told the magazine. "I'm not, and wasn't ever, ashamed." Heard added, "I don't imagine myself, my work, or my life, fitting into any kind of standardized path. In fact, the idea of there even being a standard freaks me out a lot."
