Christina Hendricks isn't one to conform to tradition as the actress has revealed that she has no desire to have children, explaining that she and her husband of five years are more than happy to look after their pet dog instead.
The 38-year-old, who returned to US screens last night with the premiere of the final Mad Men season, married Geoffrey Arend in 2009 and while she is approaching her 40s, Christina says they won't be expanding their family anytime soon.

Speaking candidly to Health, Christina said: “We got a puppy, and that's my idea of starting a family. People say, 'Oh, that's practice for parenting,' but if it's practice for anything it's to be a mom to another puppy."
“We've decided that we are not really interested in having children,” she added.
While some may believe Christina will soon get broody, the red head beauty insists she won't be changing her mind in the future.
“It's just very normal for people to say, 'Well, when you guys have kids///.' And then when I say, 'Actually, I don't think we're going to do that,' people will say, 'Oh, you say that now,'” she explained.
“It doesn't bother me, though. And, you know, there's a small chance I could change my mind.”
Viewers tuned in to watch Christina and the rest of the Mad Men clan last night for the first episode of what will sadly be the final season and it looks as though there may be tears to come as the actress recently hinted that her character Joan Harris could meet a grisly end.
“As a fan of the show, I want something horribly tragic to happen to her,” Christina told United Airline's Rhapsody magazine. “A terrible accident or something, because I think that would be interesting.”
