Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel are getting a much happier ending than their Mad Mencharacters.
Kartheiser (who plays Pete Campbell), 35, and Bledel, 32, quietly tied the knot this summer in California. The couple exchanged vows in June with some of the actor'sMad Men cast in attendance, according toGossip Cop.
The couple began dating in 2012 after the actress's three-episode guest stint on the hit AMC show, where Bledel played Kartheiser's mistress.
Kartheiser recounted to Vulture in April that they didn't start dating until two months after season five had wrapped: "We were completely professional. We never saw each other out. We never — it was nothing, it was just work.”
However, co-star Jon Hamm saw their relationship coming.
"I did know he liked her from a very early point," said Hamm. "I was a supporter of that union."
Added show creator Matthew Weiner, "I told Vinnie that they would be great together. I was like, 'Don't blow it.' Honestly, they're a really good match… They're both very down to earth, with a sense of responsibility and strong family ties. And they've been acting since before they can remember, which makes for a very special personality. It's not just that I thought they would look cute together… even with all of Alexis's amazing qualities, I think that if she had not been such a good actress, he would not have been interested."
In March 2013, it was revealed Alexis and Vincent were engaged.
"Vincent picked it out," she said of her ring, telling source that they would do their wedding planning "together."
"I'm a very lucky man," the actor said.
So could the newlyweds be preparing to start a family? Fortunately, they should have the room should they decide to do so. Kartheiser recently put his small 1-bed, 1.5-bath Hollywood home on the market. The beautifully designed 603 square-foot abode was featured in Dwellmagazine last year for the "Small Spaces, Big Ideas" issue.
This is the first marriage for both Alexis and Vincent.
Kartheiser was previously linked to actress Rachael Lee Cook, while Bledel dated her Gilmore Girls co-star (and on-screen love interest) Milo Ventimiglia for more than three years before splitting in 2006.
