Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are gearing up to be one of the summer's hottest new couples, but their relationship actually started as a friendship at least a decade ago.
The Other Woman actress, 41, and the Madden Brothers rocker, 35, brought their lovefest to New York City this week, where they made a Starbucks run, had breakfast at ABC Kitchen, and, most notably, exhibited some PDA in the form of hand-holding. Previously, they had been snapped leaving an L.A. gym together and attending the same book launch party. that they've also been spending a lot of time together behind closed doors at Cameron's house, with an insider noting, "He is the nicest guy and treats her like a lady."
As for how the stars were connected, well, they're not exactly the odd match some may think. Cameron is pals with Nicole Richie, the wife of Madden's twin brother, Joel. As Nicole's said, she and Benji are very close, so she did the matchmaking, an insider told Yahoo. Last month, the gal pals were seen hiking together at Coldwater Canyon Park in Los Angeles ... perhaps while enjoying girl talk about those tattoo-loving Madden men.

While Nicole brought them together, the connection between Cameron and Benji actually goes back even further — to the movie star's Justin Timberlake days. She dated J.T. from 2004 to 2007 and during that time, the "Suit & Tie" singer often crossed paths with the Madden brothers at various music events. And when Justin went on his 2007 solo tour, Benji and Joel's band Good Charlotte opened for him.
Needless to say, Cameron got to know them, too. And in 2004, the blonde looked tight with Benji while hanging out with him and his brother at an 'N Sync charity event. There were a bunch of photos of them together at the fundraiser, organized by Timberlake and his boyband buddies, but this one of Benji's head on Cameron's shoulder indicates an early — and tight! — bond.
"Cameron and Benji have actually known each other for years," a source told. "When she was first dating Justin, the Madden brothers were around a lot. So it's not like Cameron and Benji just met. Rather, they've recently reconnected."

Nowadays, they have more in common than just her ex and his sister-in-law. In addition to being based in L.A. and in the biz, they're huge fitness lovers. She recently wrote The Body Book; he's competed in several amateur boxing fights over the last four years. She's an established movie star, but he's dabbled in acting too, appearing in Not Another Teen Movie and Material Girls.
And while he seems a little rock 'n' roll compared to her exes — who also include slugger Alex Rodriguez, Oscar winner Jared Leto, and '80s heartthrob Matt Dillon — she seems to fall into the category of the guitarist's type. His many famous blond exes included Australian TV personality Sophie Monk, Paris Hilton, and Holly Madison. He was also linked to Miley Cyrus in November.
First photographed together in 2004, dating in 2014… We wonder if we'll see photos of them out with a few mini-mes 10 years from now. Hey, you never know in Hollywood.
It's hard to believe Keeping Up With the Kardashians first premiered all the way back in 2007. Long before Lamar Odom and Kris Humphries entered the picture, Ryan Seacrest saw something special in this not-yet-famous clan.
"At the heart of the series — despite the catfights and endless sarcasm — is a family that truly loves and supports one another," he told the press before the series premiere. "The familiar dynamics of this family make them one Hollywood bunch that is sure to entertain."
Nine seasons later and Seacrest has proved to be right on the money. Today at least one Kardashian family member is seen in the tabloids every week. Three spinoffs have aired, with Kourtney and Khloé Take the Hamptons coming soon. Finally, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian have more than 42 million Twitter followers combined. Yeah, we didn't expect that either.
As Season 9 continues Sunday night on E!, we're taking a look back from the original season to where the family is today. From pregnancies to divorces, there's still a whole lot to keep up with in this family.

Then: After her infamous sex tape with Ray J was released, Kim was still getting used to her new status as a celebrity in Season 1. "I have 47 missed calls," she told her inexperienced manager, mom Kris Jenner, "You might need some help." One of those calls came from Hugh Hefner, who wanted Kim to pose naked for Playboy. After getting support from her momager and boyfriend Reggie Bush, Kim agreed. It would be her first of many high-profile photo shoots.
Now: Playboy and Reggie Bush are so 2007! This season alone, Kim will grace the cover of Vogue with her fiancé (now husband), Kanye West. And while Kris may still be her momager, Kim is much pickier about what she decides to work on. She does, in fact, have 1-year-old North West to take care of.

Then: When we first met Khloé on the show, the outspoken sister was like a second mother to younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. In true Khloé fashion, she explained to the girls all about getting older, including using tampons and becoming interested in boys. Personally, Khloé was still struggling with the death of her father. On the anniversary of his death, she got drunk and was arrested for DUI.
Now: Still dealing with her divorce from Lamar Odom, Khloé is trying to enjoy life again. With a new home and a rumored boyfriend named French Montana, this could be Khloé's time to shine. "You're a hot item in the rap community," Scott teases in the season trailer. Go Khloé!

Then: All the way back in 2007, Kourtney was already having relationship drama with Scott Disick. After dating for only a year, rumors began circulating that Scott was unfaithful to his girlfriend. Tensions rose even more when Kourtney missed her period and thought she was pregnant.
Now: Today, the twosome is still together thanks to Scott's improved behavior. Instead of late nights out at the club, Scott chooses to stay home with his woman and their two kids, Masonand Penelope.
Reports just surfaced that Kourtney is now expecting baby No. 3. Does that mean a wedding could be happening soon? "They're very happy as is," an insider told E! News earlier this year. "The tabloids revisit [wedding rumors] constantly but there's no truth to it and never has been.

Then: From the very beginning, Kris was on a mission to expand her kids' brands and careers. But did she really know what she was getting into? "Every day I run my business, manage two careers, and look after my own family," she said in the show's second episode. "It just gets so insane to keep everything on track."
She also loved being in control. When a nanny was brought into the home to help Bruce take care of Kendall and Kylie, Kris immediately fired her. It also didn't help that she was a very attractive nanny.
Now: Kris still loves to be a part of everyone's business. But it may prove to be too much for Khloé. "I'm going to get someone new to run my sh-- because you're not on it," she tells her motherin a sneak preview. At least Kris can still help raise baby North.

Then: There were early signs of trouble when it came to Bruce and his relationship with Kris. When the three Kardashian sisters traveled to Mexico for a sexy photo shoot, Kris didn't ask Bruce for his OK and didn't tell him the real reason why they were going. "I can't believe my wife of 16 years lied to me," Bruce declared when he surprised the family on location. "This really upsets me."
Now: Although Kris and Bruce claim to still be "best friends," they are now officially separated after 22 years of marriage. This season, Bruce will continue to live in the beach house in Malibu while most of the family will remain in the Calabasas mansion. Bruce will also continue to undergo a physical transformation as he grows out his hair and recovers from plastic surgery.

Then: While studying at the University of Southern California business school, Rob tried his best to stay out of the family drama. In fact, he just wanted to find a hot girl to date. That didn't happen until Season 2, when we were first introduced to Cheetah Girls member Adrienne Bailon.
.Now: It's no secret that Rob is struggling with his weight and self-esteem. It reached a low point when he bailed on Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West at the last minute. Now single and on a mission to get healthy, Rob will try his best to become the guy we first met in Season 1

Then: When she wasn't cheerleading with her friends, Kendall was causing trouble with her sister. One memorable scene happened when Bruce and Kris went away for a couple of days. Being young, hyper girls, they decided to drive babysitter/half-brother Brody Jenner almost insane. Let's just say he was more than happy when the couple came home.
Now: In addition to her projects with Kylie, Kendall is thriving as a professional model. She's walked New York Fashion Week, developed a relationship with Anna Wintour, and was even featured in Vogue.
Most recently, she moved into her very own place. As for having a relationship with best friend Jaden Smith? That's something we're still trying to keep up with.

Then: Before she asked for a huge Sweet 16 birthday or fancy car, Kylie just wanted a dog. When she traveled to a local pet store with her friends in Season 1, she fell in love with an adorable puppy. Unfortunately, Kris's answer to getting an animal was a firm "Hell no!"
Now: When she's not posting Instagram pics for her 9 million followers, Kylie is hard at work on her fashion collection for PacSun. She also just became a writer, releasing a new novel, Rebels: City of Indra. We have to remember she's only 16. She still has to participate in some home school.

Country superstar and American Idol judge Keith Urban has revealed that marrying Nicole Kidman in 2006 drove him to drink. Then she saved his life.
His long-standing problem with alcohol didn't spiral out of control because of anything Kidman did. It was when shewasn't there to do anything that he would hit the bottle.
"When she would go away [to work on a movie] I would find myself feeling very alone, very lost, and vulnerable to my old ways," Urban recently told Rolling Stone. "We had just gotten married and this entity in my life is coming just to crush and kill everything that I've got."
When she returned from Kosovo and noticed Urban was in trouble, Kidman stepped in and staged an intervention with a group of his close friends. He entered the Betty Ford Center for rehab that October. "I was very, very blessed to have Nic call an intervention on me," Urban said. "I didn't give a s--- about anything except turning a corner in my life and doing whatever it took for that. I remember having been in rehab a few weeks, and the CMAs happened. I forgot they were on. I had gone to bed and I remember our night tech coming in and him saying, ‘You just won something. Male vocalist? CMAs or something?’ And I was like, 'Really?' And he said, 'Yeah, off to bed,' and he shut the door."
Urban's battle with drugs and alcohol started in the '90s when he was in the band the Ranch. Having performed professionally since 1990, he was often able sleep off the hangovers and remain a functional substance abuser. But there were certainly exceptions, like the time he recorded "Some Days You Gotta Dance" with the Dixie Chicks for their 1999 album Fly.
"I got on a three-day bender and had to call them and tell them, 'I'm going to be a bit late,'" he told the magazine. "Then I would call and say I'm going to be a bit later. I completely missed the session. I lived, like, a street away. It was ridiculous. I could have walked there with my guitar in hand and I couldn't make it [until the next day]."
Urban went to rehab for the first time in 1998 and was sober for eight years until the aforementioned relapse while Kidman was away. He has been sober since 2006 and now the celebrity couple have two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. They most time they'll go without seeing each other is five days, and they Skype and talk on the phone multiple times a day when they're apart. While Urban was successful before he met Kidman, he credits her for shaping him into the person he has become.
"I felt like I was just sitting dormant, and she came along and I came to life," he said. "I was born into her, so who I am now was waiting the whole time."

One of Hollywood's longest-tenured couples has called it quits, as Melanie Griffith filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas.
"We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together," Griffith and Banderas said Friday in a joint statement.
Griffith, 56, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split after 18 years of marriage. The Working Girl actress is also asking for spousal support, child support, and sole physical and joint legal custody of their daughter, Stella. However, Stella turns 18 in September.
One day before divorce news broke, Griffith attended the AFI Lifetime Achievement Awards Galahonoring Jane Fonda — solo.
"She seemed to be in good spirits," a guest tells Yahoo. "She was enjoying what looked like a girls' night out."

Griffith stuck close to Eva Longoria for most of the night, and chatted with Catherine Zeta-Jones during dinner. The actress was also still wearing her wedding ring (and sporting her "Antonio" tattoo).
Banderas, 53, and Griffith have battled breakup rumors for years, most recently when The Legend of Zorro actor attended the Cannes Film Festival without his wife. The last time the couple was photographed together was on March 16 when they were spotted at LAX walking hand in hand.
In 2011, Banderas opened up about their marital problems and Griffith's addiction to painkillers.
"We have had as many problems as anybody. We've never hidden it," Banderas shared inAARP magazine. "We've been open about addictions, in the case of Melanie. She has overcome her problems beautifully. I didn’t know she was so strong. It makes me love her even more, because she has been an unbelievable lion fighting, and she got it. The last [relapse] was three years ago, and it just welded us."
Banderas continued: "The whole family participated [in therapy]. We did all the therapies together — the kids, everybody. It was a very unique experience, not only for Melanie. It was very rewarding at the end."
However, in a separate interview, Griffith didn't remember it quite that way.
"I'm sorry to say, that's in his mind," she told AARP. "I started on pain pills when I hurt my knee skiing and just kept taking them. The kids knew; Dakota and Stella called me on it. Antonio was in London at the time. I went away to rehab for three months; it took 10 days just to detox. We had two family weeks there, but we didn't follow through. Antonio was supportive to the extent that he can be, but if you're not an alcoholic or drug addict, and you find out that your wife is a bad one, it's hard to deal with. As long as I'm okay, he's okay. I wish he would go to a meeting with me or to Al-Anon, but it's very foreign to him. Addiction runs in my family but not in his."
Griffith has two children from previous relationships, son Alexander, 28, and daughter Dakota Johnson, 24, who is also the star of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Banderas and Griffith met in 1995 on the set of Two Much, when they were both married to other people. One month after both of their divorces were finalized, they tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in London on May 14, 1996. Griffith gave birth to Stella four months later.
This will be Griffith's fourth divorce, and Banderas's second. She was married twice before to Don Johnson, and also to Steve Bauer. Banderas was previously married to Ana Leza.

While the critical reception for Maleficent has been slightly less than a fairy tale, most reviewers agree that Angelina Jolie is wicked good as the titular witch. Says Time's Richard Corliss, “She is the visual, aural and behavioral embodiment of an otherworldly goddess capable of anything, from poisonous curses to surrogate-mother love.” From the moment the superstar was announced for the role it was decreed perfect casting: Jolie has always exuded a cool, dangerous vibe. Even though she is now a dedicated humanitarian and mother figure, you still get the sense that she could arch an eyebrow and turn a paparazzo into a newt.
So she should be able to vanish into this role, especially under the horns and robes. And she mostly does — until one scene, in which she shares the screen with her now five-year-old daughter, Vivienne, who plays the young Aurora. Suddenly, distractingly, I felt like I was no longer watching a dark children’s classic: I was watching one of the most famous celebrities in the world in a home movie.
In the scene, the little girl innocently approaches the witch in a forest while her three airheaded fairy godmothers aren’t looking. Vivienne chirps, “Up, up,” to which Jolie picks up her daughter, feigning at the cute blond-haired girl. Vivienne plays with Jolie’s snakeskin horns as Maleficent softens toward the girl she so dreadfully cursed. Both mother and daughter are in line with their characters in this moment, and it’s an adorable scene, but it appealed to me not because of the film story at that moment, but because it played to the public’s voyeuristic fascination with this famous family. I didn’t think, “Run, Aurora!”, I thought, “This must be how they are at home with Brad and the gang. Is the rest of the fam just out of frame? Geez, Vivienne looks just like her parents — like an exact 50/50 mutation. Oh my, she has lines! She talks! I’m hearing her talk for the first time ever!”
The actress told Entertainment Weekly that the only reason she cast Vivienne is because every other tot actor was too terrified to be able to act against her in costume. And that may well be true. However, Jolie has a difficult enough task vanishing into character as it is: She hasn’t been in a film since 2010’s The Tourist (which not that many people saw), and so our constant exposure to her is as a celebrity icon — one whose most dissected pictures are those with her enormous brood. So while the cinematic moment gives a jolt, it’s too bad that it’s for the wrong reasons, and that it distracted from me enjoying watching her do what made her famous in the first place: act.

Rihanna received a whole lot of attention on Monday night for wearing very little!
The 26-year-old singing superstar had heads turning and sent photographers into a frenzy in her very see-through custom Adam Selman fishnet dress, headscarf and gloves at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (CFDA).
The striking dress was embellished with over 216,000 Swarovski crystals that made her literally dazzle on the red carpet.

"Well, you know, island girls are sassy and we love blingy, outrageous stuff!" the singer said.
But how was Rihanna (who is not one to be shy when it comes to showing off some skin) feeling last night in such a revealing dress?

"Are you comfortable?" Access asked the singer.
"Yes I am. Why? My t*ts bother you?" The singer joked.
In addition to her Adam Selman dress, the singer was sporting jewels by designer Paul Morelli including limited edition cat's eye moonstone and diamond earrings and an imperial topaz and diamond ring.

When the first iPhone came out in 2007, everyone wanted to try Apple's next big gadget — including the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
But the singer may not have had access to the hottest piece of tech if it weren't for his security guard.
In a new book out today, "Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days," two of Jackson's security guards, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard, reveal what it was like working with the artist during the final years of his life.
The book details how poorly Jackson's financial situation was handled — at one point, Whitfield says he overheard Jackson say he had no idea where his money was or how much he had — and how both guards weren't paid for months on end.
Nevertheless, the star still managed to drop thousands of dollars on FAO Schwarz toy trips and miscellaneous purchases ranging from a nearly seven-foot-tall Tinkerbell replica to $1,000 on a theater display for "The Simpsons Movie."
About halfway through the book, Whitfield recalls how Jackson wanted the iPhone when it first came out.
Whitfield said after Beard stood for two and a half hours in line to make the purchase, he was asked by Jackson to set up the phone.
What should have been a simple task ended up turning into a nightmare.
As Whitfield recalls:
"I had all his personal information, so I said sure. I first tried to set it up in his name, but after running Michael Jackson's Social Security number, AT&T wanted a $1,500 deposit. Just to turn on a cell phone. That's how bad his credit was. I went ahead and set up the account in my name. Then he wanted an iPhone for his mom, so he could send her pictures of the kids. I set up his mother's cell phone in my name too."
Whitfield said eventually Jackson's number was changed and the bill for both phone accounts was never paid.
"The charges had run up close to two thousand dollars, and they got disconnected," said Whitfield.
B-day (which means baby day, obviously) is quickly approaching for engaged-and-expecting sweethearts Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis! To celebrate their impending arrival, the couple jetted off to the island of Taha'a in French Polynesia (one of the most romantic and most popular honeymoon spots in the world) for a babymoon.
No word on where they stayed or what they did there, but the South Pacific island region is famed for its overwater bungalows, relative seclusion, and hospitable locals - a perfect environment for the soon-to-be parents to kick back and relax. People reports that the duo was recognized and happily signed several autographs during their getaway.
After their week in paradise, Kutcher and Kunis were spotted exiting an Air Tahiti flight. The lovebirds then headed to Kunis's parents' home for a family visit.
Though Kunis is only a few months pregnant (they announced the news in late March), they're clearly deep into their preparations for their (rumored) baby girl. In between public appearances and the demands of work, the couple bought an ultra-private three-bedroom home in Beverly Hills in May. "They are looking for more security now that they have a baby on the way," a source close to Kutcher told People at the time. "They're in the nesting phase."
Maleficent triumphed at the box office this weekend. Disney's retelling of Sleeping Beautydebuted at No. 1 with $70 million — which is the highest opening ever for star Angelina Jolie, Box Office Mojo reports.
Meanwhile, X-Men: Days of Future Past dropped off nearly 65 percent, falling to second place with $32.6 million in its second week in theaters.
The weekend's other newcomer, Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West, bombed, landing in third place with a disappointing $17 million.
At No. 4 was Godzilla with $12.2 million, followed by Blended with $8.4 million.
Neighbors earned $7.7 million and landed in sixth place. At No. 7, The Amazing Spider-Man 2took in $3.8 million and edged out Million Dollar Arm, which grabbed $3.7 million to come in eighth.
Chef held steady at No. 9 with $2 million. The Other Woman fell three spots to No. 10 with $1.4 million.
