If Kanye West is the new Walt Disney, then that would make Kim Kardashian … Marilyn Monroe? According to the rap genius, the answer is yes.
During the "Yeezus" singer's latest promotional blitz, West, 36, compared his baby mama/fiancée/"most beautiful woman of all time" to the Hollywood icon.
"I have a love/hate relationship with the paparazzi but actually I love them because they empower us over, ya know?" Kanye said during an interview with Power 105.1. "They are empowering us over Vanity Fair that want to say that Kate Upton is Marilyn Monroe. Kate Upton ain’t Marilyn Monroe. Kim is Marilyn Monroe, you know that. She was controversial. She [is] controversial."
In case you missed it, Upton, 21, was styled like the "Some Like It Hot" star for Vanity Fair's 100th issue in October.
This isn't the first time Kim has been compared to the legendary actress. Former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld made a similar statement in October.

Unfortunately, she's often found herself the target of fashion critics, especially while pregnant. Though she was constantly scrutinized for her weight gain, for the most part, Kim's voluptuous body is celebrated.
Marilyn: Monroe's famous curves are what made her a universal sex symbol. Marilyn — whose dress size has oddly been a debated topic for decades — is considered a fashion icon and her timeless look is often channeled in fashion shoots today … including one featuring Kim Kardashian herself!

Kim: The reality star's net worth is estimated to be around $40 million, thanks to her family's TV show, the Kardashian Collection, and various endorsement deals. As of June 2013 (via Forbes), Kim has already made around $10 million just this year alone, and comes in at number 66 on their World's Most Powerful Celebrities list. Marilyn: No reality show here … Monroe made her wealth from modeling and acting during her time. The late actress came in sixth on Forbes's 2013 Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, making an estimated $15 million as of June, which puts her slightly ahead of Kim. So where is the money coming from? Just a few examples … Macy’s is selling a line of Monroe clothes, Marilyn Monroe cafes and spas are popping up around the country, and Monroe is the new face of Chanel No. 5.

Kim: Let us not forget how Kardashian first got notoriety: She made a sex tape with Ray J! In 2007, Kim went from Paris Hilton's sidekick to finally being in the limelight herself once that leaked. Eight months later, E! green lit "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." After the huge production that was her wedding to Kris Humphries, Kim's likeability factor definitely took a hit when that marriage failed after it was so heavily promoted. Because her divorce proceedings lasted a lot longer than their relationship, Kim was wrapped up in legal drama even when she was pregnant with North West. Though her critics argue that she is famous for nothing, Kim is clearly doing something right as she captures headlines daily with her every move.
Marilyn: Monroe was making headlines long before gossip blogs existed. She was certainly no stranger to controversy! When it came to romance, her choice in men was always questionable (cough, JFK, cough). She doffed her clothes for Playboy. There are even rumors that a sex tape of the famed actress exists. And she abused both pills and booze.
