With 2013 almost behind us, we're looking ahead to 2014, and it's shaping up to be a big year in entertainment. Several stars are preparing to become first-time parents, while others are planning to walk down the aisle. From engagements that have yet to happen to stars that are poised to have their big breaks, click through for our biggest predictions.
ENGAGED? Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
It's not out of the question! Next year, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis will celebrate their second anniversary as a couple, and with Kutcher's divorce from Demi Moore finalized, they're more serious than ever. "Ashton and Mila have talked about getting engaged and married for quite a while," a source told People magazine. "He wants to get engaged during the holidays."
ENGAGED? John Mayer and Katy Perry
They were hot and heavy until the end of 2012, when they broke up for a short time -- and then realized that they were made for each other. Since Katy Perry and John Mayer got back together this past spring, both have made it clear just how smitten they are with one another, and even recorded a duet together, "Who You Love." "I kicked around this song about you love who you love," Mayer told Billboard. "It's also a confessional for myself. I started singing [the song], 'My girl, she ain't the one I saw coming and sometimes I don't know which way to go and I tried to run before, but I'm not running anymore.'"
MARRIED? Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
Jessica Simpson has said that she already feels married to her fiancé of two years, Eric Johnson, but the births of their two children, daughter Maxwell and son Ace, have put their wedding plans on hold. But now that Simpson is getting back into shape, it's likely that she'll be slipping her new figure into a wedding dress soon.
MARRIED? Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Just a few months after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their first child, daughter North, the rapper famously rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco and proposed with a 15-carat engagement ring. Now, fans are wondering what the two outrageous stars will do for their nuptials. Kardashian has said that it's likely to be adestination wedding ("somewhere Parisian," she added), but it seems West is the one calling the shots here. Does that mean eloping is out of the question? No, the reality star said. "No, not that I know of, but he is a kind of random, spur-of-the-moment type of guy," she said. "So, you never know."
NEW PARENTS! Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis were in the throes of wedding planning when they announced the actress was expecting a baby. "I met Jason, and I thought he was so charming. He's a great dancer, and I'm a sucker for great dancers. But he didn't even get my number," she said earlier this year. "Over the next six months we kept running into each other. [One night] my best guy friend walked up to him and said, 'This is Olivia's number. Use it.' That was the beginning." Was it ever. The baby is due in the spring.
NEW PARENTS! Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock
Kelly Clakson made no secret of her desire to have a baby with her husband Brandon Blackstock, so it came as no surprise when the singer announced that she was expecting. However, pregnancy has not been easy for Clarkson, who is due in June. "I vomit a good dozen times a day," she told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month. "I'm so happy I'm pregnant. I just wish he or she would stop trying to kill me."
MOVIA MANIA! "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay"
It's the beginning of the end. The final installment of "The Hunger Games" movie franchise will be released on Nov. 21, 2014, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. If this film is anything like the last one, Katniss Everdeen fans everywhere will have reason to buy tickets in advance.
MOVIE MANIA! "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"
"The Amazing Spider-Man," a 2012 starring real-life lovebirds Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, grossed more than $752 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Will the sequel follow suit? We'll find out on May 2.
MOVIE MANIA! "22 Jump Street"
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum had audiences in stitches with "21 Jump Street," and already, photos have leaked from the set of the sequel, and they look pretty great. So, what's the case this time? We'll have to wait for June 13 for details, but here are a few: Officers Schmidt and Jenko head to college -- and obviously, they must infiltrate a frat.
BREAKOUT STAR? Ariana Grande
She's being hailed as the next Mariah Carey, and after her performances at the Video Music Awards and the American Music Awards, it's clear fans think she lives up to the hype. After coming back from a devastating throat injury, Grande, who's only 20, is already hard at work on her second album (which is slated to drop next year), and naturally, she's already embroiled in legal drama. ( She's being sued for allegedly copying song lyrics.
BREAKOUT STAR? Austin Mahone
Austin Mahone had everyone talking after his performance at the Video Music Awards, and then solidified his position as a star to watch after picking up the VMA for best breakout artist. Mahone, who formerly opened for the likes of Taylor Swift, is set to drop his first album next year, and has been nominated for a People's Choice Award.
