American singer Miley Cyrus has come out on top of the Starcount global social media chart from November 25 - December 1, a week that saw many acts add to their follower counts.

Miley Cyrus gained 500,000 new Instagram followers and 300,000 new Facebook fans and was talked about almost 2 million times on Facebook over the past week. Her recent re-branding attempt was also openly praised by Tinie Tempah and Katy Perry.
2. Katy Perry
Katy Perry was liked by 250,000 new fans on Facebook and followed by 270,000 Twitter users after pictures were snapped of the singer partying with fellow pop princess Rihanna.
3. One Direction
Having scored the UK's fastest-selling album in the past two years, One Direction has blitzed social media, having been added to 70,000 Google+ user circles and followed by 130,000 new fans on Twitter.
4. Pitbull
Pitbull blasted back onto the airwaves with his new single "Timber." The record boosted his social presence after he was talked about nearly one million times on Facebook.
5. PewDiePie
Owner of the world's most popular YouTube channel, PewDiePie gained a whopping 40 million views on the network this week and shot past the 16 million subscriber mark on the network.
6. Rihanna
Rihanna was liked by 250,000 people on Facebook after she took time out to promote the relief effort for victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
7. Eminem
After the release of his latest video for "Rap God," Eminem has gained nearly 35 million views on YouTube. His latest upload now has well over 10 million hits and 300,000 likes.
8. Shakira
Shakira is the undisputed queen of Instagram after she was followed by over one million new followers on the network. A post of the singer's Thanksgiving celebrations was liked 110,000 times.
9. Avicii
Swedish DJ Avicii picked up an American Music Award for Favorite EDM Artist and translated his success onto social media, where he was liked by more than 160,000 new fans on Facebook.
10. Justin Bieber
International heartthrob Justin Bieber was followed by 150,000 people on Twitter this week after he shows off his skateboarding skills in Sydney.
