Guardians of the Galaxy soared to No. 1 at the box office this weekend, raking in a whopping $94 million. Last week's No. 1 film, Lucy, dropped off nearly 60 percent and fell to second place with $18.3 million. The James Brown biopic Get On Upopened at No. 3 with $14 million.
At No. 4 was Hercules with $10.7 million, followed by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes with $8.7 million.
Planes: Fire & Rescue dropped a spot to sixth place with $6.4 million, while The Purge: Anarchy came in at No. 7 with $5.5 million.
In eighth place was Sex Tape with $3.5 million. For the last two spots in the Top 10, And So It Goes earned $3.34 million, which was enough to edge out A Most Wanted Man's $3.32 million.
