Sarah Jessica Parker serves as a bridesmaid at the wedding of Melinda Relyea and James Kearns
Melinda and Sarah Jessica go way back, as the bride worked as the star's assistant during her Sex and the City days, was an associate producer on both of the SATC films, and has been the vice president of SJP's Pretty Matches production company for more than 12 years.
The ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, followed by a lively reception at the Belle Haven Club. And it certainly looks like the star had a grand time.
In a shot taken outside, Sarah Jessica posed with a gaggle of ladies with Melinda smack in the middle. The bride opted for a fashion-forward black-and-white gown that featured a dramatic floral print. For her part, Parker looked nothing short of lovely in her bright chiffon bridesmaid's dress with a flute of bubbly in her hand and a soft smile on her face.
"The bride and her ladies! #melindaandjamie," a guest captioned the snap.
In another, more formal shot, the bride and groom posed in a line with their matching wedding attendants. SJP and her husband, Matthew Broderick, both beamed at the photographer.
But Sarah Jessica didn't leave it up to the others to capture the special day. Her own Instagram feed documented many joyous moments throughout the event.
"Its wedding day for Melinda! My bridesmaid dress, stretching, releasing wrinkles and then a quick disco nap before heading towards church and a very joyous day and night. X sj," she posted before the nuptials alongside a shot of a strapless purple gown hanging from a chandelier. Also visible in the shot are adorable "welcome" gifts for both "Bridesmaid Sarah Jessica" and "Matthew."
Pre-ceremony, Parker shared another shot of Melinda getting her hair done by celebrity stylist Serge Normant, who has worked with SJP many times. "VA VA VOOM! #melindaandjamie," she exclaimed.
She also shared an artfully composed photograph of her elegant bridesmaid bouquet with an empty champagne glass containing only a crumpled blue (tear soaked?) napkin. In addition to a beautiful waterfront setting, guests (including SJP of course!) enjoyed "a classic wedge" salad and traditional wedding cake.
"Perfect. The whole affair. #melindaandjamie forever," Sarah Jessica gushed at the end of soiree. In other words, SJP makes one perfect bridesmaid, indeed.
